Ronnie James Dio began his professional music career in 1957 as a member of the “Vegas Kings.” (later Ronnie and the Rumblers). He formed the rock band “Elf” in 1967, which became a regular opening act for “Deep Purple.” Furthermore, Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore formed the band “Rainbow” in 1975 and hired Ronnie as the lead singer.

During Ronnie’s tenure as lead singer, the band released three studio albums. He quickly rose to prominence as one of heavy rock’s top vocalists. He went on to become the lead singer for the English rock band “Black Sabbath,” taking over for Ozzy Osbourne.
