Doctors have given Sarah Beeny the all-clear after breast cancer treatment, according to the presenter. The 51-year-old English real estate expert is well-known for his appearances on Help! My House is Falling Down and New Life in the Country for Sarah Beeny.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in August but told ITV’s Lorraine on Friday that she had received significantly improved news in recent days.
Beeny stated that the past few months had been “a rollercoaster ride.”
“But I feel very fortunate to have received the diagnosis I did, to live in 2023, and to be my age,” she continued. “I am fortunate for so many things that I feel truly blessed.”
‘Good but strange’
Beeny, who underwent chemotherapy, told presenter Christine Lampard that hearing she is now cancer-free felt “good but strange.”
“They essentially say, ‘That’s it, that’s the end of that’. And you sort of wonder, ‘How do you know?’ They respond, “We don’t know, we just kind of think so.”
Approximately one in seven women are diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifespan, per the NHS website. They observe that there is a good chance of recovery if the disease is detected early.
When Beeny was 10 years old, breast cancer took the life of her mother. In addition to thanking the NHS and personnel at Yeovil Hospital and Royal Marsden Hospital, she stated that she has been instructed to take medication for the next ten years while remaining “very vigilant.”
The presenter will reappear with her family in an upcoming new season of Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country, which was filmed prior to her diagnosis.
She told the Telegraph in August that she had “a little bit of a breakdown” upon hearing the news in the hospital consultation room.
Since 2003, Beeny has been married to the artist Graham Swift, with whom she has four children.
As part of the Channel 4 series Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare, she began documenting the renovation of the Grade II-listed Rise Hall in East Yorkshire in 2010.
