Scott Laughton is a Canadian professional ice hockey center who was born on May 30, 1994. He serves as the alternate captain of the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League. His father guided his early hockey development from the age of five to fourteen.
The Oshawa Generals took him third overall in the 2010 OHL Selection Draft. Following his second season in the OHL, the Philadelphia Flyers selected Laughton with the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
He’s been with the Flyers since his NHL debut on January 19, 2013. On the international stage, Laughton has proudly represented Canada in events such as the World U-17 Hockey Challenge and the IIHF World U18 Championship.

Scott Laughton married Chloe Laughton, and their July 2022 wedding ceremony received attention on social media. A photo circulating online showed the couple exchanging vows at an altar near Toronto, leading many to believe it was a recent wedding. However, Laughton later revealed that it was a reenactment of their actual wedding, which took place a year earlier in Haddonfield.
“We got married a year ago in Haddonfield,” he added. “This was just the celebration.” The celebration was a boisterous affair, with a significant turnout of relatives and friends, including former Philadelphia winger Michael Raffl, who was a member of the bridal party.
