Despite having little NBA experience, Ibaka had made a name for himself as a starter for the Thunder. He and the “Oklahoma City Thunder” reached a two-year agreement (2009-2010). He set a record in Los Angeles’ Game 2 with seven blocks (the youngest player to have 7 blocks in a playoff game). Along with his buddy and teammate Rudy Fernandez of Spain’s national basketball team, he signed a two-month contract with Real Madrid during the 2011 NBA lockout, with the possibility of returning to the NBA following the lockout. After the lockout, he traveled back to Spain and joined the NBA. Ibaka and the Thunder agreed to a $48 million contract in August 2012.
