Stefan Lainer is a right defender for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga and the Austrian national team. He is an Austrian professional footballer.
Lainer began his professional career with SV Seekirchen, a local team. In 2006, he visited Red Bull Salzburg. In 2010, he played in his first encounter for Red Bull’s second team.
The subsequent phase involved a loan to SV Grodig, where he played. In 2012, he returned to Salzburg to play for FC Liefering, the FC Red Bull Salzburg reserve team.
Lainer is the son of former Austrian national team and SV Austria Salzburg football player Leo Lainer.
