Reid and Shahidi frequently attended prom and other Hollywood parties together when they were in high school. After Shahidi’s sister Yara Shahidi helped her then-16-year-old brother ask the then-15-year-old A Wrinkle in Time actress to prom, they started dating in April 2019.
The Imagine That star said on Instagram, “After big sister FaceTime chats, conversations with his homies, and knowing what would make her happy, Sayeed SURPRISED Storm with the CUTEST promposal.” As advised by his sister, Shahidi asked Storm to create a custom poster board featuring the two of them.
The billboard read, “Storms are unusual in LA, I’m glad I found one.” Similar to this, in November 2019, Reid attended her final high school homecoming dance while clad in a light-pink feathered minidress. She was accompanied by her partner, who was wearing a maroon velvet suit.
The Suicide Squad actress will complete high school in 2020. She expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, and loved ones for their support over the years in an Instagram post on May 17.
On June 16, 2020, Shahidi also declared his high school graduation on Instagram. Congratulations to everyone who attained this milestone this year, he wrote in his greeting.
The relationship between Reid and Shahidi is typically kept a secret. They seldom ever express their feelings for one another in lengthy subtitles or social media posts.
However, people have been observed invading their privacy and publishing pictures of themselves on significant events like birthdays. For instance, in July 2021, Shahidi posted a series of images and videos that he and Reid had taken. The post has since been deleted. To wish the actress a happy 18th birthday, he sent them to her.
