Arrested for the 2022 death of 7-month-old Uriel is Tracey Nix’s grandmother

According to court documents, Uriel Schock’s grandma Tracey Nix, 65, was detained and charged with aggravated manslaughter.

She killed her own 7-month-old granddaughter on November 1, 2022, by leaving her alone in a moving car in November 2022.

After lunch with her friends, the grandmother drove her granddaughter back to her Wauchula house and left her there for many hours.

According to the court documents, she claimed to have forgotten that Uriel was in the vehicle.

In an interview, Uriel’s father, Drew Schock, voiced his sorrow and annoyance while speculating as to how a little daughter might be forgotten.

The filings state that Kaila Schock, Uriel’s mother, requested Nix to watch Uriel while she went to a hair appointment.

Before heading to dinner, Nix picked up Uriel at the home of a friend.

Video surveillance saw Nix loading Uriel into the backseat, driving home, parking, and entering the house to converse with her dog and practice the piano.

Due to the extreme heat in the automobile that day, Uriel was declared dead on the spot, and her death was determined to be a murder.

Nix didn’t realize Uriel was in the vehicle until her grandson showed up there. There was no evidence of injuries after the autopsy.

Ingrid Schock demanded the detention of her mother

After her two little daughters died within a year while being cared for by their grandmother, Florida resident Kaila Schock has demanded that her mother be jailed.

One of the kids drowned by accident, while the other perished after being left in a hot vehicle.

It was brought out during the discussion of Uriel’s passing that the couple’s 16-month-old son, Ezra, had also passed away in December 2021 while under Nix’s care.

Nix was watching Ezra when she fell asleep, and he walked outside and drowned in a pond, according to court documents. Nix wasn’t put on trial for what happened.

After the incident, Kaila said that she originally had second thoughts about leaving her kids with her mother, but she ultimately decided to give it a try.

But when Kaila learned of Uriel’s passing, she was inconsolable. When Ezra died, she was six months along with Uriel.

She said that she was aware that her mother was bringing Uriel to lunch with friends and that she learned about Uriel’s death from a sheriff’s officer hours later.

Both Kaila and Drew think that their mother’s carelessness contributed to the deaths of both of their children, and Kaila has demanded that her mother be imprisoned.

The request for reply from Nix’s attorney has not yet been answered, and a pretrial hearing is set for May 2.
