Tyler Blevins- Biography
Page Contents
Tyler Blevins is also known as Ninja in the virtual game world. As of April 2018, he had over 10 million YouTube subscribers, 6 million Twitch followers, 3.5 million Instagram followers, and 1.9 million Twitter followers, proving that he is by far one of the largest figures in social media today. Blevins, an internet phenomenon, has truly transformed his expertise and passion into a well-paid career, but only with a lot of hard work, perseverance, guts, and, of course, talent. His hefty income may appear surprising given that he earns it just by playing video games, but he has worked hard to become the most popular streamer on Amazon-owned gaming site Twitch, which explains the returns. However, it is shocking to learn that Blevins does not advocate professional gaming as a feasible career opportunity for every child!
Tyler Blevins- Professional Career
Tyler Blevins’ journey from a ‘leisure’ video game player to a professional gamer has piqued my curiosity and admiration. After all, hardly many people can claim to have turned their pleasure or hobby into a vocation. Blevins initially competed in a Halo 3 event in Orlando in 2009, where he had limited success. He understood very immediately that the route to triumph would not be easy. To earn money from competitions, he had to outperform hundreds of thousands of other players.
Though the endeavor was difficult, his love of challenges and drive to be the greatest at whatever he did propelled him on. He’d already played for several notable e-sports organizations, including Cloud9, Renegades, and Team Liquid. Blevins began streaming for Justin.tv in 2011, but soon switched to Twitch.tv. By 2012, his squad had won the Halo 4 2012 MGL Fall Championships, with Blevins scoring the most points in the final game.
Blevins joined Luminosity Gaming as a Halo player in 2017. Later, he switched to Battlegrounds, where he won the PUBG Gamescom Invitational in the 3rd Person Squads category. By the time he started broadcasting Fortnite on a regular basis, his viewership had skyrocketed, precisely proportional to the game’s popularity. When he had roughly 500,000 followers in September 2017, the number had increased by 250 percent by March 2018. Simultaneously, he broke the Twitch.tv record for a single individual stream while playing Fortnite, after hosting a game alongside Drake, Travis Scott, and Juju Smith-Schuster. The following month, he beat his own watching record with an audience of 667,000 live viewers during his event Ninja Vegas 2018.
Tyler Blevins- Birth, Age, Ethnicity, Siblings, Education
Chuck Blevins gave birth to Richard Tyler Blevins on June 5, 1991, in Greyscale, Illinois, USA. John and Chris Blevins are his two older brothers. He attended Silver Lake College in Wisconsin. Chuck Blevins, his father, was the one who introduced the boys to video gaming. He was a huge sports fan, and he would always buy the most recent games that were published. Tyler, though, recalls that while he and his siblings would go to bed by 8 p.m., his father would play the game until the early hours of the morning.
The family has the most recent gaming consoles, including Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation games. When Halo, a multi-player, futuristic war game, was released on Xbox, young Blevins begged his brothers to play it. His brothers disallowed him, saying he was “too young for the game.” When Blevins finally got his hands on the remote, he nearly ‘destroyed’ them. It was at this point that his gaming prowess became apparent. However, the road wasn’t simple.
Blevins made a bargain with his family that if he did well in school and kept his job at Noodles & Co, he would be allowed to play as many games as he wanted. Recognizing that there was no way out, he toiled tirelessly and was duly rewarded. Blevins would stay until the early hours of the morning simply becoming better at it. What worked for him was his natural desire to be the greatest at what he did. His desire to become the No. 1 propelled him to the top. Realizing his potential for the game, he promptly discussed it with his family, who were more than willing to assist him in turning his hobby into a career.
Tyler Blevins appeared to be at the pinnacle of his profession when he suffered a big setback in the form of a health issue. He was on the verge of losing his vision until a procedure rectified his retinal abnormalities. The phase was a rough one. He had been bedridden for months. On the professional front, he went from having 4500 viewers every stream on Twitch to having only 400 views. However, his natural desire to succeed aided him in making a great comeback. Blevins silenced all of his detractors by hitting it yet again. Since then, he has competed in major events and has become known as the ‘hero of e-sports.’ In terms of his personal life, Blevins married fellow gamer Jessica Goch in 2017. They’ve been in a relationship since his early days in gaming.
