Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrsky perishes in a helicopter accident at a Kyiv kindergarten.
Following a helicopter accident at a kindergarten in an eastern Kyiv district, 18 persons have been confirmed deceased.
The event happened on January 18, 2023, when the helicopter crashed into a building and a kindergarten.
The incident injured 29 persons in all, including 10 children, and 15 of them were hospitalized in surrounding hospitals.
The majority of the victims weren’t on the helicopter. However, they were struck by collision debris.
Three kids and Ukraine’s interior minister, Denys Monastyrsky, are among the deceased.
Yevhen Yenin, Monastyrsky’s first deputy minister, and Yurii Lubkovich, his state secretary, both perished in the incident, according to the official.
Ihor Klymenko, the head of the National Police, said that the helicopter that crashed near Brovary belonged to the Ukrainian state emergency agency.
Children and employees were promptly evacuated from the premises after the incident because there was a fire that followed.
It’s possible that the incident was caused by Kyiv’s gloomy and foggy weather at the time of the event.
According to early accounts, the chopper struck a kindergarten before colliding with a house.

On June 12, 1980, Denys Anatoliiovych Monastyrsky was born in Khmelnytskyi, Soviet Union.
He received a law degree after completing his studies at the Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law.
With a Ph.D. in law, Anatoliiovych began practicing law in 2007.
He was the director of the lawmaking department and an associate professor at Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law.
Denys was also a co-founder and board member of “Into the Future through Culture,” a Podolia Youth Cultural Association.
As Volodymyr Zelensky’s team worked on reforming law enforcement in the run-up to the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election, Monastyrsky gained notoriety as a leading specialist in this area.
On May 20, 2019, Zelensky was sworn in as Ukraine’s president after winning the election.
In the 2019 legislative elections, Denys Monastyrsky ran as a candidate for the Servant of the People party and was ultimately elected to the legislature.
The committee on law enforcement affairs in the Ukrainian parliament was led by the 42-year-old.
After Arsen Avakov’s resignation as interior minister on July 12, 2021, Monastyrsky was named minister of internal affairs on July 16.
One of the most tenacious politicians in Ukrainian politics was Denys Monastrysky. He tragically died on January 18, 2023, at the age of 42.
Yevhen Yenin, 42, who served as Monastyrsky’s deputy, also perished in the helicopter accident. Yurii Lubkovich, state secretary, also died away.
