The head coach of Morocco’s national football team at the moment is Walid Regragui. He is a Moroccan professional football manager and former player for Morocco’s national team.

He was born in France. Regragui played football in the past for a variety of groups, including Toulouse, Racing Santander, AC Ajaccio, and Dijon. Morocco hired Regragui to lead the national team ahead of the World Cup after the departure of the former coach Vahid Halilhodzic in August.

Regragui wanted to spend quality time with his family, thus after mutually terminating his contract with Al-Duhail in October 2020, he did not rush back into coaching. After six years of not being able to afford a proper period of “vacation” with his family, Regragui stated on Facebook that his main goal is to take a step back.

Regragui recently completed the CAF pro diploma and received a CAF pro license, which is only available to coaches who are actively coaching at the professional level. In an interview, Regragui said that while in charge of Al-Duhail, he had time to confirm his AFC professional license (Asian diploma) before traveling to Morocco, when he started the Pro CAF before joining FUS.
