“Following IRWIN’s ownership of ROCKY for over 47 years and now CREED, I’d like to receive at least WHAT’S LEFT of my rights back before passing it on to JUST YOUR CHILDREN – I believe it would be a Reasonable gesture from this 93-year-old gentleman.”

Also, he wrote:

“This is a dreadful situation that gnaws at my soul since I wanted to leave something of Rocky to my children, but it’s always a pleasure to hear from the faithful fans… Continue punching.”

Stallone has always had issues with the franchise’s rights and received approximately $75,000 plus 10 net points for the first installment, totaling $2.5 million. Although there existed a rule of corporate conduct, he did not address ownership rights in the past.

Stallone has also criticized Winkler and his son David, stating that Irwin’s recently released biography, The Arrangement: A Love Story, is one of the worst books he has ever read.

However, he stated that if Irwin Winkler had not been present, there would have been three more Rocky films, and he referred to the film’s crew as the worst professionals he’s ever encountered in his career.
