Whitney Cummings’ jokes What exactly makes it unique?
With her most recent comedy endeavor, Whitney will test out one-liners that will be enjoyed by a variety of spectators. She considers contemporary comedic sketches to be incredibly subjective. They draw in some audiences while turning off others. This served as her main driving force in deciding to self-finance the project.
Whitney wished to have complete control of her special. She will ultimately have control over the format and distribution method of her content, under the terms of her current contract with Netflix. Whitney Cummings commented on the special as follows:
“I’m still interested in learning what unites us and what we have in common. They are such masochists, and comedians. It’s probably a crazy idea to try to find anything right now that we can all agree on.
Yet, considering how divisive everything is and how ominous the atmosphere is online, you only see the news you want to read and the opinions you’ve subscribed to follow.
“In my show, I’m especially interested in the inflammatory and minute details on the most contentious topics. I still anticipate this to make me chuckle, but when it comes to a special, you have to keep your word.
Whitney Cummings: Jokes is being produced by Levity Productions and Triage Entertainment. Whitney, Judi Marmel, Stephen Gordon Walker, John Bravakis, Nick Kurzon, and Marcus Raboy are the show’s executive producers.
I’ve done four specials, and many funny people I respect told me, “If you can afford it, make it your own.
Hence, even if the TV and streaming industries continue to undergo seemingly weekly changes, at least I have some control over those developments because I own the specials.
You should be able to divide it up in different ways, she advises, “whether it’s five minutes on YouTube or one minute on TikTok or Reels, depending on how this new generation consumes humor.”
Whitney Cummings’ other specials include Whitney Cummings: Money Shot (2010), Whitney Cummings: I Love You (2014), Whitney Cummings: I’m Your Girlfriend (2016), and Whitney Cummings: Can I Touch It? (2019). Jokes will be available on Netflix at 3 a.m. on July 26, 2022, according to Whitney Cummings. Watch this space for more details.
