Andre and Angie Ogletree, Andrew’s parents, have never been close. When Andrew’s parents split, he was just seven years old. Andre Ogletree died in 2020 as a result of his COVID-19 battle. He had just been 49 years old. One of the most heartbreaking parts of Andre’s death was that he had only known his kid for two years.
Andre and Andrew, father and son, celebrated Thanksgiving together in 2018. He apologized to his footballer son for being absent and missing countless crucial occasions in his life. They started having dinner together because Andre wanted to be part in the lives of his grandson, Andrew Jr., whose birth he had missed.
Andrew acknowledges that he was unable to spend much time with his father, but he is grateful for the time he did spend with him. Andrew’s mother, Angie Hartman, tried everything she could to keep Andre involved in the lives of their two children. However, at one time, Andrew advised Angie to stop fighting and to let it go.
Andre moved across town following the divorce, and while he visited frequently at first, the frequency of those visits steadily diminished. Angie, an Urbana University business management graduate, maintained the house in addition to her employment at GE Capital/Synchrony Financial.
She was in charge of human resources. Angie is currently a supply chain human resource manager for GE Aviation. She began her career at GE in 2015 as an engineering employee for the HR Manager, eventually rising through the ranks. After her divorce from Andre, Angie began a new life. Andrew Ogletree Jr. was handed to him. Andrew’s child was delivered two months early, and after only a few minutes of hugging him, he was whisked away to the intensive care unit. Andrew had rushed home from the football field to greet his new baby. Andrew didn’t mind if his team lost because his girlfriend had convinced him to return to the field.

He and his fiancee divorced eight months after their child was born. When authorities arrived at Andrew’s house after learning of the domestic abuse, his son is claimed to have been present. When the cops came to Ogletree’s house, Andrew Jr told them that his father and a woman were upstairs.
