Tyneka Johnson and Randall Blevins were shot in a Chesapeake Walmart; their ages and families

The shop manager opened fire in a Walmart in Chesapeake on Tuesday night (November 22), killing six people and injuring another six.

Tyneka Johnson, a 22-year-old from Portsmouth, and Randall “Randy” Belvins, a 70-year-old from Chesapeake, were both deaths.

As they absorbed the awful news, the victims’ friends and relatives turned to their memories.

Tyneka Johnson was a student at Western Branch High School for two years, and Casheba Cannon remembers her as a young girl with aspirations of going to college.

Cannon discussed how, with the help of a loving family, she was prepared to struggle through her academic shortcomings to develop herself.

Tyreka was also a fashionista throughout the weekly meetings, showing off her cheery demeanor, love of music, and manicured nails in addition to her perfectly coiffed hair and nails. She was hospitable, according to Cannon.

On the other side, Randy Blevins was a seasoned employee who handled pricing and inventory management.

Former employee Shaundrayia Reese, who was employed by the business from 2015 to 2018, lovingly referred to Blevins as “Mr. Randy.”

Five of the six victims of the attack, including Lorenzo Gamble, 43, Brian Pendleton, 38, and Kellie Pyle, 52, have been identified. In a news statement on Wednesday, the City of Chesapeake disclosed the identities.

The last victim, a lad aged 16, is not identified since he was a juvenile. Five or six of the fatalities were Walmart employees, according to a company representative. They refused to clarify whether the adolescent was employed there as well.

What Took Place At The Walmart Shooting In Chesapeake?

A person opened fire on Tuesday night (November 23), killing six individuals before shooting himself. There were at least six other people hurt in the event, which happened in a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia.

The shooter, named by the city as 31-year-old Andre Bing, was armed with one handgun and many magazines, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

Walmart admitted that Andre Bing was an “overnight team lead” who had been employed by the company since 2010.

To find out what could have motivated the crime, investigators are digging further into the shooter’s past and background.

Authorities have requested everyone to pray for the departed members of the community’s family and friends.

Mass shootings have become more common in Chesapeake City recently

Another mass shooting has occurred in Chesapeake, Virginia, which is normally regarded as a calm and safe community, with the Walmart tragedy.

A 22-year-old student is accused of murdering three other students earlier this month at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, which is just around 170 miles west of Chesapeake.

Over the weekend, a second 22-year-old reportedly opened fire in a Colorado Springs LGBTQ pub, killing five people and injuring 19.

The Gun Violence Archive reports that there have been more than 600 mass shootings and 39,000 gun-related fatalities in the US this year.

We hope more stringent gun laws or other timely measures are implemented to stop such historic shootings in the days to come.
