Ben Waites will audition for America’s Got Talent (AGT) on NBC on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. ET. In order to proceed in the competition and maybe win, he and the other competitors will offer their finest performances to the judges and live audience.
In an early release preview by NBC, the AGT contestant is shown performing his original song “True Colors,” which caused judge Sofia Vergara to cry and receive a standing ovation from Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum.
During his early singing career, he discovered Chromesthesia, a sort of synesthesia in which sounds immediately evoke a perception of color, shape, or movement. The voice instructor has dedicated his performance to his students.
Ben Waites was born with a health condition

“It initially perplexed me because my mind was filled with so many different colors.” I hear a rich crimson and some green while I sing. I am able to match the pitch and interpret the style of the music.
It’s almost as if there’s a connection there. This was the primary factor that aided me with music. I could neither read music nor comprehend technique, so all I had was color.
Ben Waites’ Musical Evolution
In December 2010, Ben obtained his bachelor’s degree in music, communications, and the performing arts from Louisiana College.
During his university years, he received many scholarships and was awarded the opportunity to play at his own commencement. The AGT contestant’s grandfather passed away the same year, but he aspires to continue on his family’s legacy.
His chart-topping songs include My Wonderful Lord, He Giveth More Grace, All That Delights My Soul Is Jesus, and his most recent, Real as I Believe.
