Viewers will only have to wait a few days longer until Race To Survive: Alaska premieres on USA Network on April 3 at 11 p.m. ET. In addition to competing against one another, competitors will have to contend with the weather, animals, and environment of Alaska.
Eight teams will compete for the title and the top prize of $500,000. To cross the finish line first, contestants must complete various tasks across 100 miles of untamed terrain.
Race To Survive: Alaska includes obstacles such as trekking, bushwhacking, paddling, diving, and hiking. Hunter Leininger is competing in Race To Survive: Alaska with his father, Jeff Leininger. One of Hunter Leininger’s most notable achievements is his three-time world record.
Hunter Leininger of Race to Survive: Alaska is the youngest competitor in the 24-Hour National Championship
Hunter discovered his life’s purpose and what he is most passionate about when he was seven years old. His father, who was also an adventure driver, pushed and influenced him to become the man he is today. Despite his love of sports, he always wanted to do more in life. He was curious to see if he could do what his father had done.
Hunter completed his first run in only six hours. The 11-year-old is the youngest winner of the 24-Hour National Championship. He set several records along the way, including the Youngest Finisher in the World’s Toughest Race and the Adventure Racing World Championships. He’s also set numerous records in mountain biking and ultra running.

In their Race To Survive: Alaska biography, the father-son team is described as follows:
“At 53 and 21, respectively, this father and son duo represent the opposite ends of the age spectrum in the race, with Jeff being the oldest and Hunter being the youngest. Don’t let their youth fool you; they’re both well-prepared for a competition like this.”
It continues, saying:
“Jeff has spent most of his life adventuring, and his son is following in his footsteps.” Hunter, at the age of six, was the youngest competitor of this type ever. They’ll now combine his father’s knowledge with his father’s vitality and quickness in the hopes of defeating their formidable opponent.”
The USARA states that
“Hunter wants to show young people that they can accomplish amazing things at any age and that they don’t have to wait until they’re older to pursue their dreams, which is one of our society’s most common excuses.”
