This season, Gomez will learn how to prepare sweet corn and baby carrots with smoked yogurt from Top Chef champion Kristen Kish. Kish’s love of cooking began when he was five years old and started watching the food show Great Chefs in the World on the Discovery Channel.
Adrienne Cheatham, Devonn Francis, Gordon Ramsay, Ludo Lefebvre, Matty Matheson, Nick DiGiovanni, Paola Velez, Priya Krishna, and Rachael Ray are some of the other well-known chefs who will be featured on Selena + Chef Season 4. Kristen Kish was adopted by a Michigan family at the age of four months after being born in Seoul, South Korea. People frequently assume that she solely makes Korean meals because of her Korean ancestry. However, she draws greatly on French cuisine in her cooking.
Kish knows very little about Asian food, especially Korean food. She believes that other chefs are more skilled than she is in making such delights. However, when she made an appearance on Lucky Chow alongside the Korean chef Maangchi from YouTube, she did create kimchi, japchae, and bulgogi. Following that, Kish admitted in an interview that she never tried those foods again.
One of the co-hosts of Netflix’s Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend is an American chef of Korean origin. On Iron Chef Showdown: Battle Beantown, she had previously competed; there, she defeated Matt Jennings but fell short to Jose Garces. Kish was the second female chef to win Top Chef Season 10 overall.
She then compared her experiences on Top Chef and Iron Chef, arguing that the latter required more planning and practice in one’s own kitchen with one’s own crew, whereas Top Chef required competitors to think quickly.
Her first cookbook, Kristen Kish Cooking, was published in 2017. She worked with the Sydell company the next year to establish her first restaurant, Arlo Grey. Additionally, Kish is one of three chefs featured in the 2021-starting culinary competition TruTV’s Fast Foodies.

A Critics Choice Real TV Award, a Taste Award, and two MTV Movie & TV Awards had already been given to the series. Gomez’s amateurish culinary skills add to the allure of the program, making it more entertaining and pertinent to viewers. In addition, the performance raises money for charity.
