Rachael Komissaroff, Alan’s wife, and their two children, Olivia and Ben, are left behind.

Both of his children are teens; Olivia is 13 and Ben is presently 17. Alan wanted his kids to have the opportunity to attend college.

High school sweethearts Alan and Rachael have been wed for more than 20 years. She works as a teacher in New York City, claims PEOPLE.

Services will be held in the Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on Sunday, January 22, at 1 p.m. ET.

In an effort to raise money for Alan Komissaroff’s family at this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been established.

Out of the $250,000 target, the campaign has so far raised $216,030. Among other things, the money generated will pay for the college education of Alan’s children.

The page was started by Eileen Orihuela, a woman from Milltown, New Jersey. She refers to Alan in the description as “a wonderful father and devoted husband.”

“Alan was the family’s rock,” the activist said. He loved his job, but he cherished his wife and children much more.

As a result, on Sunday, January 8, he was working out at home when he went upstairs and informed Rachael that he wasn’t feeling well.

She called 911 out of concern for her husband’s wellbeing, and as paramedics brought him to the hospital, his heart stopped.

Alan lost consciousness after falling into a coma. Two weeks later, his death was officially declared.

On Monday, January 23, the FOX network will air a memorial tribute to Alan during Special Report.
