The reason for Kanye’s detention is that he is accused of fighting with a photographer and smashing the costly camera to the ground. The damaged camera cost $10,000.
The event was captured on camera by the news website TMZ. While sporting a gray hooded sweatshirt and a crimson bodyguard/road manager, Kanye is spotted taking the photographer’s camera from them.

Reports state that West’s tour manager was also taken into custody during the incident. The two were reportedly freed yesterday after paying a $20,000 bail.

Kanye seems to control the lights as Don Crowley, his security, controls the camera. Both Crowley and Kanye slam the camera and light to the ground.

‘SNL’ Opening Monologue by Dave Chappelle Mentions Kanye West
Dave Chappelle’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live included topics including Donald Trump, the midterm elections, and Kanye “Ye” West’s antisemitic comments.
The comic gave a statement that he claimed to have authored as his opening remark. “I disapprove of antisemitism in all forms.
And that, Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time,” he said, “and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community.”
In a significant section of his performance, Chappelle attacked West, the rapper, and tycoon, accusing him of thinking he was untouchable before Adidas, among other business partners, sacked him as a result of a series of antisemitic remarks on social media.
Ironically, he said, even the Nazis who invented Adidas were outraged.
The situation surrounding Kyrie Irving was also discussed by Chappelle. Irving was recently suspended from the Brooklyn Nets for a minimum of five games after sharing a link to the antisemitic film Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America.

Additionally detained was Isaiah Lee, who had attacked Dave at the Hollywood Bowl.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, the guy who is suspected of stabbing comedian Dave Chappelle onstage at the Hollywood Bowl has also apparently been charged with attempted murder for allegedly attacking his roommate at a transitional living facility in December.
The prosecution claims that Lee was recognized and captured in the original assault in part as a result of the media attention that followed the Chappelle incident.
The county public defender’s office did not promptly respond to a request seeking comment from the attorney representing Lee.
For reportedly rushing the stage and attacking Chappelle during his stand-up routine at the Hollywood Bowl on May 3, Lee was taken into custody.
In a video statement announcing the accusations, City Attorney Mike Feuer stated that the alleged attack had to have repercussions and that his office takes safeguarding the public’s safety seriously and would tenaciously pursue this case.
