On Saturday, Willie Nelson turned 90, so it was not surprising to see the legendary singer-songwriter back on the road. Billboard reported that on Saturday and Sunday, Nelson will perform a 90th birthday concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
According to the music news website, Nelson will be accompanied by George Strait, Sheryl Crow, Beck, Dave Matthews, Snoop Dogg, Gary Clark Jr., Leon Bridges, Jack Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Neil Young, Norah Jones, The Chicks, The Avett Brothers, and Tyler Childers.
Billboard reported that Chelsea Handler, Jennifer Garner, Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Hellen Mirren, Gabriel Iglesias, and Ethan Hawke will make appearances at the concert.
His music catalog is extensive. Forbes reported that he composed “Crazy,” “Always On My Mind,” “Stardust,” and “On The Road Again.”
Nelson, who grew up in Abbott, Texas, and was reared by his grandmother, stated that he was drawn to music at an early age.
“Music has always appealed to me,” Nelson told KVUE-TV. I began writing poetry at age 5 and acquiring guitar chords at age 6.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Nelson appeared last week at Light Up the Blues 6, a semiannual fundraising event organized by singer Stephen Stills, 78, and his wife, Kristen, to benefit the nonprofit Autism Speaks.
He described his birthday performance as “fantastic” and expressed his gratitude to all the performers who participated in the two-day event.
Nelson told Forbes,
“I’m speechless and I can’t express how much I appreciate all those people who dropped what they were doing to help me celebrate my 90th birthday.” “I think it’s fantastic.”
Nelson added that his secret to longevity is straightforward.
“I think it’s a positive attitude,” Nelson told Forbes. Imagine what you desire, and then get out of your own path.
