Actress Lee Lawson passed away on May 22 at the age of 80. Leslie Bova, her daughter, confirmed the news by claiming on Facebook that her mother passed away from cancer and Covid-19. She stated:

Her friend and fellow actor Marian Hailey-Moss paid tribute to her on Facebook when she passed away, writing,
In a better world, my fiery, intelligent, and gorgeous friend Lee Lawson would speak the truth. A fantastic companion as well as an excellent actor. I’ll see you there, Lee.
The details of her funeral are still being worked out.
Lee Lawson, the Lee Lawson of Guiding Light
In the CBS serial program Guiding Light, Lee Lawson played Bea Reardon from 1981 through 1990. The protagonist was the proprietor and manager of the boarding house on 7th Street.
Reardon, a character played by Lawson, toiled to support her family of seven after her husband left them. She left Springfield after finding out about her husband’s death to tour the world, coming back the next year before relocating to Boston with her youngest son.
The sitcom, which ended in September 2009, featured Lawson in somewhere between 50 and 60 episodes. With over 72 years of radio and television broadcasting, Guiding Light is the longest-running television series in American history.
Her most recent appearance on the show was when she sent her daughter Chelsea, played by Kassie DePaiva, a video message on the day of her wedding to show her support.
There is a lot to know about Lee Lawson
She made her television debut in 1965 on the CBS series Love of Life, and then in 1979 on the ABC series One Life to Live. She was born in New York City on October 14, 1941. Even while Lawson’s work on Guiding Light is what she is best known for, she has been in shows including Maude, Kojak, and Equal Justice. Later on, she appeared in the television movie Mason.
Lee also enjoyed a successful career on Broadway. Brenda Vaccaro was replaced by her in the part of Toni in the 1965 comedy Cactus Flower, which starred Lauren Bacall. She made appearances in a number of movies, including Agatha Sue, I Love You, The Plough and the Stars, An American Millionaire, Teibele, and Her Demon. In 1970, Lee and Joseph Bova got hitched. Bova died on March 12, 2006. Her grandchildren Gianna, Wilder, and Sterling as well as Leslie, Chris, and Gaby Lawson all live on.
