On July 30, RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under’s second season will make its debut, including ten new drag queens eager to scorch the stage with their charm.
A Brisbane queen named Beverly Kills will take part in the competition. Australian-born European-born Kills will compete in fashion and performance challenges in the hopes of winning Drag Race Down Under and becoming the next big name in drag. The show will be hosted by RuPaul, and judges will include Michelle Visage, a stalwart of Drag Race, and comedian Rhys Nicholson.
The youngest contestant on Drag Race Down Under is Beverly Kills, 21. Although she was “born and raised on the beaches of the Gold Coast,” she moved to Brisbane, Australia, because she loved drag.
She is a “whip cracking, fire devouring, jump splitting drag queen,” according to her Twitter account. Her Instagram account, @thebeverlykills, where she posts images of her many identities and aims to reach her 10,000 followers as of writing, offers fans a sneak peek of her flair.
The sideshow and burlesque performer was considered a “school outcast.” She developed a love affair with drag when she was a teenager.
She first saw RuPaul’s Drag Race in high school and fell in love with the genre. When Beverly Kills was old enough, she saw a “local drag live” and knew exactly what she wanted to do. Within a few months after turning 18, she started her drag profession, and she immediately became well-known.
Beverly Hills was awarded a weekly residency at Fluffy (Brisbane), one of Australia’s most well-known nightclubs, in addition to taking first place in a regional drag competition. She is recognized as one of the most well-known and promising upcoming drag artists in Brisbane.
Drag is used by Beverly Kills as medicine. She struggles to “cope” without drag since the genre of art “makes her feel brave and impassioned.” She described what the Beverly Kills performance had to give viewers in a clip from Wow’s Drag Race Down Under:
“Treading the line between glitter and grit is what the Beverly Kills event is all about,” So I play a massive, loud punk rock event to try to get the crowd going, but I still try to lure them with things like feminine sexual energy.
Since they act as “one giant, massive family” and “raise each other,” Beverly Kills enjoys Australia’s drag scene.
It’s a common misconception that because she’s young, she doesn’t know what kind of drag she wants to do, but this is untrue. The monarch declared:
“Beverly Kills looks like a grass snake. She moves slowly, and is quiet, thoughtful, and organized. She will pounce when she realizes the time is right to strike.
She plans to accomplish this in Drag Race Down Under, which will debut on WOW Presents Plus in a few different nations on July 30.
