Alex Belew Discusses The Hell’s Kitchen Pressure And Meeting Gordon Ramsay’s Expectations

Alex Belew

In the first few episodes of season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen, Chef Alex Belew’s unique cuisine, proactive attitude, and culinary skills won him, numerous admirers. The program has provided him with both positive and negative experiences, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Belew has positioned himself for several triumphs on the program, having received a perfect score from the renowned chef Gordon Ramsay and becoming one of the competition’s frontrunners.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, Alex Belew discussed the unique challenges, successes, and defeats he faced in Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the Ages, as well as his connection with other cast members.

Chef Alex Belew describes his time on season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen

This season of Hell’s Kitchen had greater intensity and drama than previous seasons. Gordon Ramsay dismissed from the kitchen numerous contestants who failed to create satisfactory food during service assignments.

As the stakes climb in each episode, it is only natural for teams to feel overwhelmed.

Alex Belew discussed dealing with pressure in Hell’s Kitchen and meeting Ramsay and the clients’ high standards. The chef acknowledged that he frequently faced challenges in the kitchen, but noted that he relied on his culinary expertise to overcome obstacles.

Belew continued by saying:

“In such a circumstance, you must rely on instinct and dietary expertise. What flavors complement one another, how should particular foods be prepared, and hope for the best? I had completed 30 minutes of a 40-minute test before I recognized what I was doing.”

He went on:

“During that thirty-minute period, I did nothing but cook and combine known-to-work ingredients. Knowledge and creativity are indispensable. Real innovation simply does not divulge your sources!!”

Gordon Ramsay gave Alex Belew a perfect score for his fish dish, while others (including those who served boxed pasta) received a failing rating. Yet, the side came within an inch of claiming victory before collapsing into chaos.

The chef was one of the few individuals to receive a perfect score. In the same context, Belew underlined the virtue of optimism, stating:

That was one of the most significant occurrences of my career. However, it lasted for approximately three minutes since it was eclipsed by boxed pasta.

Such an odd dish to prepare for Chef! Certainly, I was upset, but I did my best to maintain a positive attitude. The first day is far too early to go wild and explode.”

Alex Belew dislikes the season 21 format of Hell’s Kitchen

The chef also received one of the first penalty passes of the season, which he described as “comfort, blessing, and possibly a weapon!! In season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen, the contestants were divided into two age-based teams.

The Blue team’s chefs were in their forties, while the Red teams were in their twenties. This season, though, Belew has not been a fan of the format.

He said,

“When he unveiled this year’s theme, I was one of the last people to clap. It did not excite me in any way. I was aware that my 20s had only begun, and that the majority of people my age hold managerial roles. That is precisely what I was thinking!”

Chef Belew, on the other hand, asserted that he had an excellent rapport with his staff. He stated that he met some of his closest friends on the show and that they are still in touch, indicating that, despite the turbulence, the actors truly cared for one another.

Belew spoke to cooks in their twenties as “a truly exceptional group of adults” and stated that he held them in the highest regard. He declared:

“I cannot wait to watch where their careers go. I can confidently state that I have a good relationship with all of them, and I would hire any of them immediately!”

When asked if he had favorite teams, Alex Belwe stated:

“I cannot claim to have only one favorite. There are far too many that are quite important to me. It may appear like I’m avoiding the topic, but I truly care about those children.”

Alex Belew was captivated by food at a young age, beginning with cooking with his grandmother and graduating with a high level of culinary ability. In order to put himself to the ultimate test, he has applied all of his knowledge, skills, and determination to the culinary challenge.

Will he achieve success? Only time will tell. Visitors can discover more about chef Alex Belew by visiting his website and following the online recipes for his award-winning dishes. Fox airs Hell’s Kitchen every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
