Despite his heated protestations, Hawke began publicly dating Shawhughes in 2005, following his divorce. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the actor said that she had been unemployed for quite some time before he fell in love with their nanny.
According to him, the main cause of the rift was their quest for fame as actors. After having children, Thurman returned to work while her boyfriend remained at home to care for the children.
As mentioned by Hawke, the agreement did not work out.
“I’m living in a hotel room with my children while you spend six hours a day doing what you love on a film set. Try it for nine months and assess your level of satisfaction.
The collapse of their marriage devastated the actress from Pulp Fiction. She found the entire situation peculiar, given that they were a family one day and then stopped talking. However, the actress said she was solely responsible for their separation.
