South Korean football player Kim Min-Jae (born 15 November 1996) competes for both the South Korean national team and Serie A club Napoli.

Tongyeong is where Kim was born. His brother, a goalie for Myongji University, as well as both of his parents were former athletes.
The Tongyeong Elementary School football team was where Kim started playing football in his early years. He eventually graduated from Gaya Elementary School in Haman. He attended Yeoncho Middle School and Suwon Technical High School, where he met two international athletes, Park Ji-sung and Kim Sun-min.
After completing high school in 2015, he enrolled at Yonsei University. Despite opposition from Yonsei University, he dropped out of school in July 2016 while a sophomore in order to pursue his dream of making his professional debut.
Career
- Kim began playing for Gyeongju KHNP, a semi-professional team, on July 1, 2016, and has competed in the Korea National League ever since. Kim participated in 15 games for KHNP up until the end of the regular season, assisting his team in making the playoffs.
- On December 22, 2016, Kim accepted a free transfer to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
- Choi Kang-hee, the manager of Jeonbuk, expressed his confidence in him during the preseason training camps in Dubai and immediately used him as a key player.
- Kim scored his first goal in a K League 1 game against Daegu FC on June 25, 2017. With a mid-range volley on August 19, he scored his second goal for Jeonbuk against Gwangju FC. Due to a buildup of warnings, he was ejected from the game against Sangju Sangmu on September 20.
- On August 14, 2017, Kim was chosen for South Korea’s squad for the final two World Cup qualifying matches against Iran and Uzbekistan. Also, On August 31, 2017, Kim made his startling international debut against Iran, replacing Iranian player Saeid Ezatolahi and providing 84 minutes of solid defensive play. On September 5, Kim made his full-time debut against Uzbekistan, aiding South Korea in keeping another clean sheet. As a result of these games, South Korea earned a spot in the FIFA World
- Cup for the tenth consecutive year. He was unable to participate in the 2018 FIFA World Cup due to an injury that occurred on May 8, 2018.
- On September 1, 2018, South Korea defeated Japan 2-1 to win the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. With their victory, Kim and his friends avoided serving in the military, reducing their two-year conscription to just a few weeks of basic training.
