Bachelor alumnus Alex Kavanagh, according to his LinkedIn page, is the creative director and founder of DRONEGEAR, “the first independent drone-sharing platform on Instagram in 2013.”
Alex Kavanagh, who was born in Australia, holds CASA and FAA drone pilot certifications. His work has appeared in halftime advertising for the Baseball World Series and the Football Super Bowl, as well as Emmy-nominated work on National Geographic.
Alex had worked as a carpenter before joining Drones. When questioned about his occupation, he told Pelican.com:
“I was a carpenter and constructor who picked up a camera by chance.” Which led to the idea to remotely fly that camera.”
After discovering his passion, he began his career as a freelance creative director at Western Digital, XOAR Propeller, and The Tiffen Company, among other companies, before founding his own company in 2013.
Kavanagh, 35, is also a “Creative Director at SDSU’s Centre for Unmanned Technologies and CRPAA (Certified Remote Pilots Association of America) Board member.”
Alex is interested in drones and anything linked to them, but if he could do anything else, he would want to be an “astronaut” and explore space.
Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees motivates him in the morning, and he employs the following motto when things become difficult:
“Continue creating. Do not surrender.”
Marriage of Lesley Murphy and Alex Kavanagh
In late 2017, Lesley, the proprietor of The Road Less Traveled, LLC, began dating Alex. The couple revealed their relationship with a photo of them kissing while on vacation in Norway in January 2018.
The pair announced their engagement on Instagram two days after Alex proposed in Manhattan Beach, California, on February 4, 2020.
The two announced that they were expecting their first child on September 27, 2020, and a year later, the Arkansas native had a baby girl, Nora, in February 2021.
COVID-19 necessitated the postponement of the wedding, which the couple had wanted to hold sooner. On October 13, the bride and groom held a luau welcoming party before their destination wedding. Lesley stated the following regarding the party:
“It turned into this enormous rehearsal dinner. We wanted to express our gratitude to everyone who traveled so far to attend our wedding.”
The pair exchanged traditional vows in front of 71 guests in Maui on October 14, 2022. The bride, when questioned about her wedding day, stated:
“I’ve always wanted to have an outdoor wedding. I appreciate mother nature, and being surrounded by palm trees and water is awe-inspiring.”
Lesley first participated in Sean Lowe’s season of The Bachelor in 2013 but was eliminated prior to the hometown dates. She then participated in The Bachelor Winter Games, where she met Dean Unglert and began dating him.
Dean persuaded Lesley to move in with him in February 2018. However, the pair separated up in April of that year. Lesley and Alex, newlyweds, are looking forward to a fresh beginning as husband and wife.
