The 16-year-old girl who was bitten by a shark in Perth’s Swan River has been identified as Stella Berry.
Marine scientists issued a warning that more sharks will be present in estuaries at this time of year after a 16-year-old girl was murdered in an attack in Perth’s Swan River.
Fisheries Minister Don Punch said on Sunday that while it was still too early to say what species of shark carried out the attack, it was most likely a bull shark.
Because they are aware that bull sharks, in particular, do occasionally infiltrate estuaries and freshwater river systems, he told the ABC that it is possible.
He asserted that this was the first deadly shark attack in the Swan River since the previous one in 1923. In addition to the six known attacks that have taken place, he continued, this would make seven historical attacks in the river.

On a Saturday afternoon, a girl named Stella Berry was taken from the water with critical injuries that were initially believed to be to her legs. Berry passed away at the scene despite the paramedics’ best attempts.
In a letter that Guardian Australia was able to receive, Alec O’Connell, the headmaster of Perth’s Scotch College, told the school community of the passing.
He wrote with deep regret and sadness, “The young lady whose life was cruelly lost at North Fremantle was Stella Berry, the daughter of Sophie Berry, one of their beloved colleagues.
O’Connell further verified that three male students who were Stella’s acquaintances were present at the scene of the tragedy and made the initial 911 calls in that instance.

Stella Berry was saved when?
Stella was rescued from the sea close to the Fremantle traffic bridge in North Fremantle on Saturday before 3:45 p.m.
According to the Police, she was thought to have had serious injuries to her legs, and despite their best attempts, the paramedics were unable to rescue her. Family and friends were startled on Saturday afternoon at the scene of the unfathomable tragedy.

Currently, police are investigating the site to determine exactly what took place. According to information provided to authorities, a guy put his own life in danger by plunging into the sea in order to save the girl and pull her to land.
Additionally, police boats were sent out to scour the river for what they thought was a bull shark.
