In a plane crash, Megan Hilty’s sister, brother-in-law, and their child perished. On September 4, 2022, Lauren, Megan’s sister, Ross Mickel, and their son Remy were on a floatplane that crashed into Puget Sound near Whidbey Island, Washington.
When Lauren died, she was nine months pregnant. In an interview with King 5, the relatives of Mickel stated:
“We are heartbroken and devastated by the loss of Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty, Remy, and their unborn son Luca.” Our shared suffering is unimaginable.”
When the floatplane crashed, a search party was dispatched to locate the pilot and all missing passengers. On Monday, September 5, 2022, the hunt was terminated when one corpse was located. The cause of the accident remains unknown.

Born on March 29, 1981, Megan Hilty is best known for her work in Broadway musicals, the musical-drama television series Smash, and the NBC comedy Sean Saves the World. At age 12, Hilty began voice training and developed an interest in opera.
She attended Sammamish High School and Washington Academy of Performing Arts Conservatory High School in Bellevue and Redmond, respectively.
She then attended the Chrysalis School in Woodinville. 2004 was the year Megan graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor’s degree in theater.
After graduating from college, she auditioned for Wicked and made her Broadway debut as Glinda the Good Witch in 2004 as Jennifer Laura Thompson’s backup. She succeeded Thompson in 2015 and continued to act on stage between 2006 and 2009.
She then performed at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in Mountain View, California, in the musical Vanities.
This was followed by appearances on The Closer, Ugly Betty, Shark, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Closer, Desperate Housewives, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and more episodes.
Snow White’s voice was provided by Megan Hilty in the 2007 animated film Shrek the Third, and she as Dolaree Rhodes in the musical adaptation of the 1980 comedy film 9 to 5.
In 2009, she appeared in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as a fast food manager, followed by two episodes of Desperate Housewives.
Megan is also a member of the Actors’ Equity Association
Hilty was well-known for her appearance as the Chinese Princess in the 2013 animated film Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return and for her involvement in the NBC sitcom Smash.
In March 2013, following her participation in the musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, she released her debut solo album, It Happens All the Time.
Then, in June 2013, Megan Hilty starred in the NBC comedy Sean Saves the World before returning to Broadway in 2015 for the production of Noises Off. She succeeded Jane Krakowski as Lily St. Regis in the NBC musical television special Annie Live! in November 2021.
