On June 9, 2020, Tankian posted to Instagram to show gratitude for his amazing relationship.
A vintage black-and-white photograph of the pair passionately locked in a passionate embrace was featured in the post. Tankian turned to face his wife, who also turned to face the camera, her flowing curls glistening.
In the comment, the musician expressed his appreciation for having a life partner who shared his commitment to justice and equality.
Ironically, the caption concluded,
“Thank you for adding color and vibrancy to my world and making it our world.” At the conclusion of the caption, he wrote “Sirum em Kez!” which basically translates to “I love you” in Armenian.

According to Armenian Pulse, Tankian wed his longtime partner Madatyan on June 9, 2012, in a secret, invitation-only ceremony in Semi Valley, California.
According to the site, despite the fact that Madatyan, born in Vanadzor, had been spotted with the vocalist on multiple occasions and at public events, little was known about the mysterious woman. Just over two years after being married, the couple welcomed a newborn boy into their household.
